The Journey Collection by Yorkshire Artist Lines by Fran
For those of you who follow me on Instagram and Facebook @linesbyfran you’ll have seen me post about The Journey Collection. It’s my first themed collection on my art shop and was completely unplanned. Thus far most of my artwork has been me processed lockdown and everything that goes with it but as we move towards ‘a new normal’ (I detest that phrase) I began to think more about how I got here and where I was going. I’ve created 3 works in The Journey Collection so far and have more planned.
‘Path’ explores the life choices we make. And as we change paths in life we need to ask ourselves. Are we on the right path? Have we fallen off it or taken the wrong one? Don’t get caught up in the bright lights and focus on what’s best for you. Physically, emotionally and financially.
‘Overpass’ has been created digitally using wet acrylics. It was my first time trying wet acrylics and I’m really happy with how this turned out. As I began my new path I started to see how areas of my life now needed to crossover and maneuver them carefully as I go full speed ahead. ‘Overpass’ is a Limited Edition of 100 printed on Fine Art Glicée Hahnemühle Pearl paper.
One thing I have noticed lately is that I’ve slowed down on the production of new works. This is partly to do with being busier but also the lack of inspiration lately. Part of moving forward on this path meant losing my biggest muse and it’s really interesting how my art has developed because of this. I’m trying things that I wouldn’t have before, so although there’s a negative there are positives too.
I wanted to give you all a bit more background and understanding to why I created The Journey Collection, and why now. If you have any questions about The Journey Collection or any of the products on the site you can talk to me directly via the Facebook messages chat on the art shop or use the contact page to send me an email.
It would be great to get your feedback on The Journey Collection. If you have purchased an art print then I encourage you to review it on the product page and I love, love, love to see my art proudly displayed in your homes. If you’re browsing then feel free to give feedback in the comments section on here or on social media, good or bad. I think it’s really great to be able to open up a dialogue online until I’m able to meet you face to face. Yes, I am planning an exhibition at some point in the future where I can take you on a timeline journey through my art so if you live in Yorkshire then keep an eye out!
Big love,
Fran.
