Yorkshire based Artist sells prints online
If this is your first time reading my linesbyfran blog then welcome! I’m aiming to post weekly blog updates about new products, offers, site improvements as well as free downloads. I’m Fran, the Director on linesbyfran.com which is an online art shop that sells limited edition prints, framed prints and more. I’m a Yorkshire based Artist and I often find myself being inspired by my excursions to Leeds and the many wonderful people I’ve met here. Due to the current situation (COVID-19) I’ve been creating art to process everything that’s going on would like to share it with you.
In some of my previous posts I’ve talked more in depth about why I chose to sell art but I haven’t really gone into why I set up my own online art shop. Firstly, I have a sales & marketing background, that’s why I decided to sell my art myself. I also have a lot of experience with developing and designing websites to sell products because of this. Simply, I knew I was capable. I know how to build a brand, how to promote products on social media, how to give excellent customer service. I’m fully in control of the process and do not rely on third parties or are limited by selling channels. Everything you see on the website I have built, created and written myself.
Secondly, I chose to run my own shop instead of posting my products on Etsy and solely on social media sites because I can give a much better customer experience with my site functionality and social media combined. I can talk to customers directly using the Facebook chat app installed on the site or through direct messages. I can see the flow of customers to my site, their behaviours and ultimately improve the ability to get the best products to the best people. I want people to find Art on my online show that they are going to enjoy for a lifetime!
Finally, (I will be posting a more in depth blog on customer service and site improvements) the ability that my connected email marketing gives me to automatically send discounts and updates to customers is so helpful. The tools I can use to enhance the online shop and customer experience are simply not available in other selling models. If there’s any part of the customer journey that you’d like to give feedback on, please get in touch, it could improve everyone’s experience on the site.
In conclusion, I believe my own shop is the best way to sell my art. I’m a Yorkshire based artist that sells art online to the world! (Ah, the power of technology). That’s not to say that I’m going to stay online only, I’d like to man a stall, be featured in a gallery, host a solo exhibition but right now this is where I’m at. Your support so far has been incredible so thank you so much to everyone in every way that you’ve helped. If you’re in a position to share this blog on your site or social media then that would be fantastic.
Big love,
Fran.
